band students performed at Rochester HS on Saturday, January 28 at the MSBOA
District Solo & Ensemble Festival. All of the students performed
extremely well and should be proud of their accomplishments. Here were the
ratings for their performances.

District 16 Chamber Ensemble Festival
34 band students performed
in 3 different ensembles on Saturday, January 14 at
Rochester High School for the MSBOA Chamber Ensemble Festival.
The
Flute Choir was awarded a 1st Division Rating.
This year's ensemble included Kristyn Bickley, Melissa Biskner, Amber
Chuhran, Hannah Donnelly,
Paige DeVlaminck, Denielle Furton, Michelle Grosor, Erin St.
James, and Ashley Volkman.
The Mixed Chamber
Ensemble was awarded a 1st Division Rating.
The ensemble included Paige DeVlaminck, Hannah Donnelly, Nolan
O'Brien, Joel Frost, Megan Westrick, Josh Chernos, Andy Spencer,
Alana Jannette, Trenton Dean, Ryan Dean, Rebecca Tomasek, Jeremy Behrendt, Nicole Lemanski,
Caleb Stoltenberg and
Nikki Leonard.
The
Clarinet Choir was awarded a 2nd Division Rating.
This year's ensemble included Nolan O'Brien, Olivia Whiting, Tricia
Tucker, Jennifer Fraser, Leah Richard, Amy Johns, Krysta Brinley,
Breeanne Frost, Megan Westrick, and Nicole Welser.
Congratulations to all 3 ensembles for outstanding
performances!
MSBOA DIstrict 16 Marching Band
Festival
The 2011 MCHS Mariner Marching Band received Straight 1's for an overall 1st Division rating at last night's MSBOA District 16 Marching Band Festival in Port Huron on Tuesday, October 11. The MMB nearly earned a perfect score, with 8 out of 9 grades as A's. This was, by far, their best performance of the year. Congratulations to the 2011 MCHS MMB for an OUTSANDING performance!

PERFORMANCES ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL BAND
STUDENTS:
We study music from the perspective of an
instrumental performance ensemble, so the actual performance is an
essential part of the experience and can not be duplicated at a different
time or by a different assignment. Students - mark your calendars
and attend all required performances.
