Education is definitely a Team Sport.  Communication is the key.  Please don't hesitate to contact any of your child's teachers, counselors or administrators with any questions of concerns.

Just a Head's Up

  • Students NEED to participate every single day!

  • With the recent outbreak of staph infections, it is more important than ever that students shower after P.E.

  • If a student needs time off due to illness or injury,  please make sure they bring a note from the doctor.

  • Physical Education is IMPORTANT!  Without physical health, mental health is WASTED

"Exercise is to the body what reading is to the mind"

ALL STUDENTS WILL-  Participate in activities that promote improvement in the five components of health related fitness every single day.  The focus of the program is physical activity and fitness for a lifetime.  Students will also learn techniques and strategies involved in team and individual sports.

8th Grade Students-  Will be in P.E. for an entire semester.  The first marking period we will focus on aerobic fitness.  Students will participate in "Mac's Marathon".  We will run an entire marathon, 1 or 2 miles at a time.  Once we have completed 26 miles we will add the times together so every student will  have a marathon time.  A male and female winner will get their name engraved on a plaque displayed in the lobby showcase.  Students must complete the marathon to be eligible for an A.   The timed runs will take place 2 or 3 times a week with team and individual sports on the alternating days.  The focus of the second marking period will be anaerobic fitness.  We will be working to improve strength and body composition.  Students will participate in resistance training 2 or 3 times a week with team and individual sports on the days between workouts.

6th Grade Students-  Will be running the "Mini Marathon".  They will run 13 miles, 1 or 2 at a time.  When they have completed 13, they will add their times to get their mini-marathon time.  The male and female winner will get their name engraved on a plaque displayed in the showcase.  Students must complete the mini-marathon to be eligible for an A in the class.  Students will be learning techniques and strategies in team and individual sports on the days we do not run.
