Purpose of course:
To provide organizational and academic assistance to eighth grade
resource room students. Additionally, to aid these students in achieving their goals
in the general education curriculum.
Required materials:
SCMS planner (to be filled out daily), Box of Kleenex, pencils,
erasers, organizational material – such as an accordian file folder to
organize student work from ALL academic courses.
Academic

6 pts. – SCMS planner filled out
DAILY!
10 pts. – Weekly organization
14 pts. – Weekly homework completion

English and Language Arts (ELA) Syllabus

Purpose of course:
To work with students on improving their functional reading and
writing skills. More
specifically, to work on assisting students progress on their specific ELA
goals.
Required materials:
Box of Kleenex, pencils, erasers, journal notebook (for daily
written language)
*** a Language3! Book and binder will
be assigned to each student, which they are responsible for.
ELA Grading:
10 pts. – weekly journal
10 pts. – Weekly Language3!
Participation
10 pts. – Weekly L3! bookwork
10 pts. – weekly vocabulary quizzes
10 pts. – weekly reading
reflection assignment (one paragraph response)
50 points total.
