| Pre-Algebra | Geometry | Applied Math | Algebra/Advanced Algebra | Personal Math | Accelerated Math |
This course will focus on the following pre-algebra topics: problem solving, integers, statistics, ratios and proportions, percents, decimals, measurement, equations, and other related topics. The topics will be covered using lecture, individual assignments, group work, games, projects, and other forms of instruction as appropriate.
This course will focus on the following geometry topics: points, lines, planes, angles, coordinate plane, triangles, polygons, circles, transformations, measurement, and other related topics. These topics will be covered using lecture, individual assignments, group work, games, projects, and other forms of instruction as appropriate.
APPLIED MATH MADE EASY (AMME): Back to top
This course is designed to show how mathematics is used in everyday life. Hands-on activities and experiments are used to develop skills in the areas of arithmetic, algebra, and written communications. Students will cover topics ranging from fractions to systems of equations. A major focus is to teach skills employers look for in their employees: the ability to solve problems, the ability to work with others and also the ability to communicate well.
ALGEBRA/ADVANCED ALGEBRA: Back to top
This course will focus on the following algebra topics: graphs, variables, integers, probability, functions, solving systems of equations, and other related topics. These topics will be covered using lecture, individual assignments, group work, games, projects, and other forms of instruction as appropriate.
The course covers the areas of math used in everyday life. Topics include car buying, house buying, loans and mortgages, budgeting, banking, savings and investing, shopping, taxes, and credit. These topics will be covered using discussion, simulations, individual assignments, group work, projects, field trips, and other forms of instructions as appropriate.
This class will cover both basic math and pre-algebra. Students will be placed in the course according to their score on a placement test. The course generates unlimited practice assignments that are tailored to each student. It also gives students immediate, individualized feedback, and show what mistakes each student makes. All assignments and tests are automatically scored. Accelerated Math helps each student practice the precise skills necessary to move ahead at their own pace. Basic Math topics covered include: Whole Numbers, Decimals, Fractions, Percents, Ratios and Proportions, Statistics, Graphs, Probability, Measurement: Length and Area, Volume, Capacity, and Temperature. Pre-Algebra topics include: Integers, Number Theory, Rational Number Operations, Variables, Expressions, Functions, Linear Equations, Linear Inequalities, Roots and Exponents, Ratio, Proportion, Percent, Statistics and Graphs, Probability, Geometry, Measurement, Perimeter, Area, Volume, Right Triangles, and Polynomials.
